To make this recipe begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees F.

Then, generously grease a 6-1/4” mini cast iron skillet with non-stick cooking spray or butter. Alternatively, you can use a 6” cake pan if you don’t have a mini cast iron skillet, but you may need to adjust the baking time. Set the prepared skillet aside.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt and mix until well combined; set the dry ingredients aside.

Next, in a separate mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract and stir well.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until the dough is just combined. Gently fold the chocolate chips into the cookie dough.
